Author talk – Ripiro Beach: A Memoir of Life After Near Death
Thursday 15 October, 6pm, Whangārei Central Library
Join journalist Mary de Ruyter and award-winning author Caroline Barron (both NZSA members) as they discuss how Barron’s book, Ripiro Beach: A Memoir of Life After Near Death (2020), explores motherhood, grief and trauma, and the search for identity. Dame Fiona Kidman describes Ripiro Beach as “one powerful read”. An RNZ reviewer calls it “honest and unsparing”, “a really compelling read”. Registration is essential due to limited seating; email libraryevents[ at]wdc.govt.nz.
NOTE: If Whangārei/Auckland are in level 2 close to the event date, the venue will change. Check www.whangareifringe.co.nz for updates.
