Mokaba Cafe Poetry
Join new, established, performance, and published live poets at Mokaba Café for the launch of Fast Fibres 2, an exciting compilation of fresh, diverse poetry by Northlanders.  Feature poets include Victoria del la Varis-Woodcock, Maureen Sudlow, Piet Nieuwland, Micheal Botur and many more. You are invited to share your own poetry or someone else’s at the open mic session. All ages welcome. Free Entry. Food, including delicious soup and drinks of all kinds are available from the ever popular Mokaba Café.

Rhymes in the Vines
Calling all rhymers and rappers, beats and bards, lyricists and listeners to the Fat Pig Vineyard for a celebration of poetry in Northland. Wrap up National Poetry Day 2015 at the vineyard and join local musicians and poets for an afternoon of fun. All ages welcome to perform. Prizes for the best performances. Wine tasting and tasty food available.
Entry Details: Free entry. Open to all ages. ID required for wine tasting and purchase. Register on arrival to book your performance.

Poetry is also part of the Film & Literature Sunday Sessions at Kings Theatre Creative, Kawakawa. On Sunday 23 August, 1-4pm, poets from Whangarei and the Far North will share their love of words in an impromptu ‘open mic’ live performance. Promising energy, passion and humour, all poets are invited to join in the performance on the day.
