Writers’ Retreat – a gift of time!
The Northland branch invites members to attend a writers’ retreat to be held in Paihia on the weekend of 19 – 21 August, staying at the Paihia Pacific Resort Hotel, 27 Kings Road, Paihia.
You can view the hotel here: https://paihiapacific.co.nz/.
This retreat is designed to give members a chance to get into some serious, distraction-free writing.
There are 7 rooms booked at $218.70 for the two nights, and payment will be required by 16/8.
Check in: 19/8 2-7pm
Check out: 21/8 10am
Food is your own responsibility. There is a continental or cooked breakfast available, which can be requested and paid for on check in. Those who would like to get together on the Saturday night to go out for dinner are welcome, and if you have any suggestions for places to go in Paihia please let us know.
Rooms will be allocated on a first in basis, but if you miss out it may be possible to book directly with the hotel. If we can’t fill the rooms with members, we will then offer the remaining spots to the wider writing community. We hope to see you there!
Author Talk – Catherine Lea
CONGRATULATIONS to NZSA Northland member, Catherine Lea (left).
Her informative and entertaining presentation in the May Bain Room at Whangarei Central Library was well-received!
WELCOME to new NZSA Northland member, Sherryl Clark
I work with novels, memoirs, poetry, and children’s and YA books, including picture books. I taught Professional Writing & Editing at Polytech for 23 years, and I also write (I have 70 children’s and YA books published, and three adult novels). I mostly provide structural and developmental editing (which people also call critiquing). Some copy editing when I have time. I’m not currently able to take on new mentoring clients.
