Northland Branch Flash Fiction Events

Learn how to flash!
Learn how to write flash fiction or hone your flash writing skills at a one-hour workshop led by flash fiction writer and editor, Sian Williams. This short-fiction genre of between 200–500 words is growing in popularity “because life is short and so is some of the best fiction”. The workshop will take place from 1.30–2.30pm on Sunday, 26 June at Kings Theatre Creative in Kawakawa. The fee is $10. Places are limited so contact margareta.cahill@gmail.com to register your interest.

Enjoy a flash afternoon
Come along and hear some winning flash fiction at Kings Theatre Creative in Kawakawa on Sunday 26 June. The Northland winner of the National Flash Fiction Competition will be awarded a trophy and $50 and read their winning entry. The floor will then be opened to all writers to read their flash fiction. Starts at 2.30pm (following the Flash fiction workshop) with a cup of tea and then 3–4pm for the prize-giving and readings. This is your chance to present your flash works and enjoy stories by local writers. Bring your family and friends to share the vibes.
