NZ 2024, Documentary
Director: Joshua Prendeville
This is a feature length documentary on internationally celebrated New Zealand writer, Fiona Kidman.
Now in her eighties, Kidman has published more than 30 books of fiction, poetry and memoir and received a host accolades, both here and abroad.
Through the film, we’re shown Kidman’s life lived with conviction and courage. From precocious beginnings in rural Northland to Kidman’s involvement with the New Zealand Women’s Liberation Movement. She has always been propelled by her sense of the power of words to inspire and bring about change.
“In her storytelling and in her compassionate, gutsy, tough expression of female experience, Kidman is the best we have.” – New Zealand Listener
